Mountain bike and hiking
Popular activities in the area include cycling and hiking. A total of 94 Eifel loops, the local circular hiking trails in the Northern Eifel, invite you to explore the beautiful region in hiking boots. All routes have been given a catchy name. Further into the highlands is the village of Effelsberg with the largest movable radio telescope of europe and its radar screen a hundred metres in diameter. There you can have outer space explained to you in words and pictures.
